I’ve been a fan of Above & Beyond for a few years now and I love every single track the come out with so it is no surprise that Group therapy feels sounds so amazing and fresh just like when it came out in June 2011. Every single song in the album is great on their own but there are some that really stand out depending on how I feel. Love is not enough is the one song that come close to the way I feel now…..

A few thoughts on Mexes’ and Ibrahimovic’s bicycle kick goals

Last week during the round of international friendly matches, the biggest talk was Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s bicycle kick goal against England; a 30-35 yards overhead kick with his back to the goal, that helped sealed a 4-0 Swedish victory of which Ibrahimovic scored all 4 goals.

That goal without a doubt was great display of technique and positioning and being an AC Milan fan, I’ve been accustomed to see Zlatan’s skills last 2 seasons when he was playing for Milan before his transfer to Paris-Saint German this season and where he helped Milan win their 18th scudetto. It has been such a big deal that even some of my facebook friends who are not very into football are sharing it and talking about it.

Now, this week’s big talk is AC Milan’s Philipe Mexes’ bicycle kick goal against Anderlecht in matchday 5 of the UEFA Champions league that helped Milan secure a 3-1 victory to qualify for the round of 16. See for yourself.

Now, I know some would say I’m biased since I’m a Milan fan (and always will despite their horrible form this season) but Mexes’ is definitely the best goal of the two for the following reasons:

-Ibrahimovic is a striker so he is expected to score goals, all the time

-Ibra’s goal was on a friendly international match

-Mexes’ goal was on must-win official game for Milan in a European competition

-Mexes’ is a central defender. Defenders rarely score goals unless it is the result of a corner, free-kick or they are very attacking-minded.

-It is Philippe Mexes for Christ sake. A defender who is a walking red card, lacks finishing skills and reads the game very poorly as of late. He is also out of form this season. Most likely being sold during the January transfer season or during the summer

-To Mexes’ credit, he takes the time to control the ball with his chest as it comes to him from Montolivo’s free-kick, and the shoots while Ibra just shot as the ball was coming down

-On Mexes’ goal, the keeper was on the line. When Ibrahimovic scored, the keeper was way far from the goal line so Zlatan technically scored on an empty goal
